DRA Mining Indaba 2013 - Shipping Container Conversion

We at HOTT3D are an adventurous team. As such when the opportunity comes along to create projects out of the norm, we latch onto them.

DRA approached us to convert a shipping container for them at the 2012 Mining Indaba. Our previous conversions include a large project for Shell at Top Gear festival 2012

The unit for DRA was designed to be a boardroom internally  with an upstairs informal meeting zone.

The benefits of such a construction are a near impervious structure and an easy onsite setup. Most of the production work takes place offsite so that just fine tuning is required onsite. This unit would work equally well indoors as well as being perfectly viable for outdoor display. The only restriction being that a crane truck must be able to access the offload area.

The design included custom fitted sliding glass doors, internal fitted timber flooring, custom steel staircase and glass ballustrades. Branding took the form of laser cut logos adhered to the custom painted steel body of the container.
